« My work explores the intimate atmosphere of shared meals, painted in gouache on paper. I focus on food placed on tables just before it is eaten — a fleeting moment charged with anticipation, memory, and connection. Growing up, my family always gathered for dinner, and on weekends we would share long brunches together. These moments remain some of my most cherished memories, and I return to them in my art with warmth and reflection.
For me, a dining table tells more than the story of eating habits. It speaks about relationships, traditions, and the rhythm of everyday life. In my paintings, the table becomes a portrait — not of a single person, but of a community, of lived experience, and of the stories that food and its rituals quietly preserve. »
